Dreaming up and creating SunLab, the in-house agency of Post Consumer Brands, is one of the most meaningful things I have ever done.
Inspired by the bright yellow sun in the Post and Malt-o-Meal logos—the bold, new internal agency name paid homage to present and past companies. SunLab evolved from a packaging and design service into a testing ground for content, media, digital and big ideas. Using a flywheel of learning, SunLab transformed into a data-driven incubator is where innovation, play, experimentation and collaboration are just standard practice.
The rebrand was anchored in new behaviors. We optimized our agility to scale and deploy even better work into market faster with bigger ROIs.
We rallied around our new values and set of guiding principles for everything we did.

SunLab was honored to host In-House Agency Forum’s first ever Minneapolis networking event.
Within the first 14 months, I increased this team’s engagement score by 41 points. Within 2 years, capability gaps were filled and productivity increased by over 250%. This in-house agency model is on track to save the company almost a half a million dollars in the fiscal year.
